Ryanair $10 sale for travel in Europe
Ryanair is having their occasional-not-quite-annual 10-euro/10-pound flight sale! The website keeps going down and the prices keep disappearing as they are snatched up, but this is still too good to pass up. I just snagged a flight from London Stansted to Berlin for $16. Check out the fare finder at Ryanair.com. If the Ryanair site is glitching out, try google.com/flights instead to check particular places and dates.

Norwegian Air flight sale from US to Europe
Norwegian is having a sale right now for fall/winter flights to Europe. New York to Oslo and Stockholm for under $150 one-way. San Francisco to Stockholm is as low as $169 one-way, and there are other locations along the East and West coasts, too. Check it out: http://www.norwegian.com/us/flight/tips/
Keep in mind that Norwegian has strict carry-on allowances and is relatively no-frills. However, I had a positive experience when I flew with them, and they had free movies.

Free hotel stays for people with over 2000 Facebook friends
A few hotels and hostels around the world offer free stays for people with a large social media presence, including Facebook friends and Twitter and Instagram followers. The idea is that if someone with that many followers posts about their experience, it's a whole lot of free publicity.

Megabus: A wintry guide
Hello, world. Megabus has a clickable route map, which is great, but it is missing one important feature: it doesn't have a price-search function. It would be great if, (much like discount airlines such as EasyJet), you could search for "places I can go to from Chicago/DC/Omaha/wherever for $1." You can't do that, but if you book really, really early, you can get to just about anywhere for $1. Megabus just released a whole bunch of new seats today, so there are about a zillion $1 seats available for December-January travel. I went to the trouble of clicking on a few hubs and seeing just how far south you can go for $1. (You will have to play around with the trip date to find your $1 tickets. They jump around with regards to date.) Without further ado, here is a short list of where to warm up this winter, for $2 round-trip:
From Chicago: Dallas, TX

Megabus $1 tickets available NOW for winter travel!
Hello, all! As of noon on October 1st, Megabus has just released a new batch of tickets for travel in the US up until January 5th! That means that there are a LOT of $1 tickets to be had for December and early January travel. Book ASAP if you want those $1 tickets.

A guide to packing light
Greetings, all! Welcome to the new home of my blog, formerly known as Suspiciously Good Deals over at Wordpress. (As of now, you can still read it at suspiciouslygooddeals.wordpress.com.)
As an avid traveler, I'm always looking for tips on how to travel better/cheaper/longer, and I've seen a lot of so-called "guides" that are really nothing more than clickbait, with no actual advice and no respect for the reader. "Maybe," thought I, "I could create the kinds of guides that I would want to read." And so, without further ado, here is my Guide to Packing Light:
